Job Description




As a Security Officer - Refinery Patrol Driver in Clarksville, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks. This is a driving post, so a valid driver's license is required. You will communicate clearly, document observations using a computer or tablet, and deliver customer-focused service while working with a team that values integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site leadership and/or emergency services per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, production and processing areas, tank farms, loading and unloading zones, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Control access at gates and designated entry points by verifying identification, authorizations, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements.
  • Monitor alarm panels, cameras, and other site monitoring systems when assigned, and initiate appropriate notifications and response actions per procedure.
  • Perform security-related screening of vehicles and/or property entering and leaving the location as directed by post orders.
  • Document patrols, inspections, incidents, and unusual conditions in written reports and/or electronic logs, including observations of hazards, leaks, spills, or damaged barriers for follow-up by site personnel.
  • Support contractor and visitor management by confirming check-in and check-out, issuing visitor credentials, and directing individuals to authorized areas.
  • Assist with traffic control and routing of trucks, tankers, and employee vehicles during peak periods, deliveries, and special activities as directed.
  • Maintain a professional presence, communicate clearly with site personnel, and coordinate with Allied Universal supervision regarding shift updates and post-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security experience.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
