Job Description




As a Security Officer - Municipal Patrol in Riverside, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Security Officer at a government location, you will be a visible presence while conducting routine patrols, observing for unusual activity, and reporting security-related concerns. You will support staff and visitors with clear communication, helpful directions, and professional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to all visitors and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, fire-related alarms, and disruptive behavior.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, access control points, and alarm panels; report unusual activity and/or malfunctions per post orders.
  • Control access to restricted areas by checking identification, issuing visitor credentials when directed, and verifying authorization for entry.
  • Provide directions and general assistance to the public, including helping route visitors to the appropriate departments and documenting service-related issues.
  • Complete incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation in a clear and timely manner.
  • Communicate with site management and local responders as needed, relaying accurate information and supporting incident response activities.
  • Perform perimeter and facility checks for unsecured doors, gates, and other security-related concerns; notify appropriate personnel for corrective action.
  • Support special events and high-traffic periods with presence patrols, queue management, and traffic and/or parking flow assistance as directed by post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
