As a Security Officer - Industrial Entry Control in Brookwood, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and guide employees, contractors, and visitors through site procedures. You will complete patrols of assigned areas, monitor activity, document incidents, and communicate clearly with site leaders and emergency contacts. Why Join Us: What You'll Do: - Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
- Staff access control points to help manage entry and exit for authorized personnel, visitors, and deliveries using badges, rosters, and/or authorization lists.
- Verify identification and required credentials for site access, and follow site-specific processes for denied entry, escort requirements, and/or restricted areas.
- Operate visitor management procedures including sign-in and sign-out, issuing temporary credentials, and directing visitors to designated check-in areas.
- Monitor vehicle access at gates and/or checkpoints, confirm delivery and pickup documentation, and help maintain orderly traffic flow in accordance with site procedures.
- Conduct package, tool, and/or property removal checks as directed by post orders to help reduce unauthorized removal of materials.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating concerns to site leadership, Allied Universal supervision, and/or emergency services as appropriate.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or access control systems and report irregular conditions per site policy.
- Document daily activities, access events, incidents, and unusual observations in written reports and/or electronic logs with clear, factual information.
- Support emergency and abnormal event procedures such as evacuations, shelter-in-place, and/or accountability processes as directed by site policy.
- Communicate professionally with site personnel and respond to requests for assistance, directions, and/or general information while maintaining post requirements.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
Minimum Requirements: - At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
