Job Description




As a Security Officer - Industrial Rover Driver in Cedar Rapids, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will make routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and requests for assistance. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site personnel, and deliver customer service with integrity. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns.
  • Control access at designated entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and directing individuals to the proper locations per site policy.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other systems when assigned, and report unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or suspicious conditions to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting emergency services when needed and assisting with site evacuation or accountability procedures as directed.
  • Document security-related activities and incidents in written reports and shift logs, including patrol findings, access control activity, and response actions taken.
  • Communicate professionally with site management, employees, drivers, and vendors to support site operations while following post orders and confidentiality requirements.
  • Support vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow during shift changes, deliveries, and special events as directed, including observing for unauthorized parking and/or restricted-area entry.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
