Position Overview:
The E-Commerce Engineering Manager leads the design, development, and ongoing optimization of the company's digital commerce platforms. This role is responsible for managing engineering teams that build scalable, secure, and high-performing e-commerce solutions that support online sales, customer experience, and revenue growth. The E-Commerce Engineering Manager partners closely with Product, UX, Marketing, Operations, and Architecture teams to deliver reliable, customer-centric commerce capabilities while ensuring technical excellence and operational stability.

Strategic Leadership:
  • Define and drive the technical roadmap for eCommerce
  • Partner with Product, UX and Business teams to develop and execute digital strategies that improve customer experience and retention and support internal
  • Drive integration of Zones new content management platform
  • Establish engineering standards, development methodologies, and best practices for quality, security, scalability, and performance.
  • Define and capture meaningful KPIs, derive insight and actions and communicate with senior management
  • Work closely with Sales to drive the timely delivery of client specific products and sites
  • Manage development of internal sharepoint sites
  • Manage client support teams fielding ecommerce user support tickets
Team & Delivery Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of front-end, back-end, and mobile engineers.
  • Manage resource planning, goal setting, performance reviews, and professional development for the engineering team.
  • Oversee project execution from concept to deployment, ensuring on-time, high-quality delivery across multiple initiatives.
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
Technical Architecture & Execution:
  • Oversee architecture for scalable, high-performance solutions
  • Guide headless commerce implementations and integrations with internal ERP, PIM, CRM and other systems and third-party APIs.
  • Ensure robust monitoring, logging, and governance across commerce and mobile ecosystems.
  • Drive architecture decisions related to SFCC, headless implementations, RESTful APIs, and middleware integration for seamless omnichannel experiences.
  • Implement caching and security best practices for performance and data protection.
Governance & Quality:
  • Establish platform governance, including performance monitoring, incident response, and error resolution.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure adherence to compliance and security standards.
  • Promote continuous improvement through technical reviews, post-mortems, and performance optimization.
What you will bring to the team:
  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Proven background in eCommerce platforms and front-end
  • Strong experience with headless commerce, PWA Kit, and API-first architectures.
  • Experience integrating with various payment systems and third-party APIs
  • Demonstrated success in building and leading engineering teams, improving delivery processes, and scaling complex systems.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • A customer-first mindset and passion for digital innovation.
  • Strategic thinking with hands-on technical depth to guide teams and influence architecture.
  • A collaborative leadership style that fosters trust, creativity, and continuous learning.
  • A bias for action, data-driven decision making, and commitment to excellence.
