As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a critical utilities location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to incidents with clear communication and professional customer service. This is a driving and armed post, supporting security-related operations by reporting hazards, documenting activity, and helping to reduce disruptions. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to onsite personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including fire and intrusion alarms, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, parking areas, access roads, and perimeter fencing, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor and control access at gates and entry points by checking identification, managing visitor sign-in, and coordinating access with authorized site contacts.
  • Operate and monitor security-related systems such as cameras, alarm panels, and access control systems, and report unusual activity per site procedures.
  • Perform vehicle and/or bag inspections when authorized and required by site policy, and document findings per procedure.
  • Carry and maintain issued equipment and firearms per Allied Universal and location requirements, including completing required training, inspections, and post checks.
  • Write detailed reports of daily activities, patrol observations, and incidents, and complete required logs and electronic documentation.
  • Communicate with site operations, supervisors, and local emergency responders as directed, providing clear updates and requesting support when needed.
  • Support protection of critical utility infrastructure by identifying and reporting hazards, damage, unauthorized access indicators, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
