What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, security-related policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by verifying identification, validating credentials, and processing visitor and contractor check-in and check-out.
  • Operate access control systems, badge readers, and visitor management tools, escalating access issues and/or system concerns through the chain of command.
  • Conduct vehicle and personnel screening per site procedures, including directing traffic flow at gates and coordinating deliveries with site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, access violations, and unauthorized entry attempts.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems, reporting unusual activity and/or equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation such as access logs, incident reports, and shift activity reports in accordance with site requirements.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations, perimeter lockdown procedures, and accountability measures.
  • Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding post orders, policy updates, and operational changes.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
