Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring a Software Developer and Architect. This role will be located on-site in Huntsville, AL.

This is a key member of the Software Development that develops, codes, tests, and evaluates software products as well as understands software architecture across various Aircraft Survivability Equipment(ASE) products.

What you'll do:

    Work as a member of the ASE SW development team to design, code and test SW (tools, libraries, applications)
  • Review SW related deliveries from vendors, emphasizing knowledge of the SW development life-cycle artifacts
  • Be able to support multiple concurrent development efforts at different stages of SW life-cycle
  • Collaborate with other SW team members on competing priorities as well as provide status to leadership
  • Understand how system level changes can impact SW performance, design, or testability
  • Understand SW development methodologies, road-maps, and planning
  • Provide guidance on FACE, MOSA, and/or other DoD SW architectures
  • Understand portability of applications, conformance, and layered SW development approaches
  • Support ASE product offices to provide knowledge and evaluation criteria on vendor proposed architectures; help with understanding impacts of design


Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Education: 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Clearance: Active Secret clearance
  • 2 years hands on experience with one or more of the following: C, C++, Ada, Python
  • Be able to read and understand technical documents, drawings, and capable of balancing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Understand system software interfaces, requirements, and inter-operating with other systems
  • Experience with embedded programing languages and be fluent in the Microsoft Office tool-set
  • Knowledge of SW architecture and development methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
