We are presently seeking a Thin Film Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for General repairs and maintenance of vacuum deposition chambers and related equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting and repair of a large number of high-vacuum chambers and related equipment.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance (PMs), pump changes, and component rebuilds.
• Assisting Thin Film Engineering with coating chamber modifications and upgrades.
• Maintaining inventory for all items related to coating machines.
• Disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling of grid sets, cathodes, planetaries, and other items maintained as ready spares.
• Maintaining and supporting the development of electronics and computer-related equipment and operations for Thin Film Equipment.
• Assists with organizing, writing, and revising PM programs and procedures on all Thin Film systems.
• Assists in writing technical maintenance procedures and processes for production equipment.
• Troubleshooting electronics to the component level.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Degree; Associate's Degree in a related field preferred
• Minimum of five years' experience working with high vacuum equipment preferred.
• Planned maintenance operations and organization experience preferred.
• Experience with Ion Beam Deposition equipment, RF, and DC preferred.
• Experience with Electron Beam Deposition equipment preferred.
• Experience in diagnosing machine-related electronics is required.
• Ability to analyze schematics preferred.

Pay Range: $28.00- $34.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Our facility in Boulder, Colorado, has key functions in Research and Development, Operations, Production, and other disciplines. This facility specializes in the manufacturing of ultra-precision optical components, optical thin film coatings, and optical sub-assemblies for demanding applications in lasers, materials processing, instrumentation, life sciences, avionics, and defense.

This site offers capabilities that include substantial design and engineering resources, comprehensive optical fabrication and coating capabilities, advanced assembly technology and an extensive in-house metrology lab.
