Quality Data Management Intern

What you will be doing:

Join the Quality Data Management and Operations team to gain hands-on experience in data management, reporting, and AI-driven process improvement. This position works with cross-functional teams and will contribute to impactful projects in healthcare data.

The intern will work the Data Management and Operations teams; Account Management teams; Engineering; project sponsors and project stakeholders to ensure understanding of custom reporting needs, understand database structure and current report output and processes, and make recommendations for how to use various AI models to streamline creation of new and custom SQL.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and Optimize SQL queries for customer reporting SQL 45%

  • Understand current SQL used to support custom reports.

  • Understand how to create new SQL for custom report work

Create Artificial Intelligence Assessment 25%

  • Assess current customer reporting processes and recommend AI tools for reporting and process efficiency

  • If approved, create a proof of concept if appropriate and there is time

Review Data Processing Workflows 15%

  • Review value stream map for data processing within Operations (unrelated to custom report work) and assess how AI could help address gaps in process

Maintain Documentation 15%

  • Create documentation to support recommendations, instructions, presentations to project stakeholders or compliance if needed

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • Ability to read and write SQL

  • Must understand database structures, software and IT technology terminology and issues.

  • Written and Verbal Communication Skills - Communicating clearly in both written and verbal form.

  • Project Management and Organizational skills.

  • Microsoft Project and like applications.

  • Self-guided and motivated. Practices active listening.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels.

Experience:

  • Experience with and knowledge of various AI platforms and uses

  • Experience writing SQL

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Teams, Zoom).

  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

Education:

  • Obtaining a bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, technology, data science or related field(s).

Working Conditions: Air conditioned office space Travel Requirements: No travel required Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $52,000 - $78,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
