About Our Orthopedic Residency Program: The Lee Health Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program is a great opportunity for physical therapists to advance their knowledge and develop their clinical skills in the area of orthopedic physical therapy. The residency program is designed to prepare residents to become successful orthopedic clinical specialists committed to enhancing the quality of patient care and improving the life and mobility of individuals in the community. The residency is a 13-month program that integrates didactic instruction and immersive clinical experience to foster advanced clinical reasoning, diagnostic proficiency, scientific knowledge, leadership, communication, and patient management skills. Residents are full-time, salaried employees who rotate through three outpatient clinical locations, gaining exposure to a broad range of orthopedic conditions. In addition to clinical training, residents participate in Lee Healths LEEdership Institute, which offers organizational development and leadership coursework to support both personal and professional growth. This residency is designed to develop highly skilled orthopedic physical therapists through exposure to a diverse patient population and a variety of dynamic learning environments.
