Technical Accountant Remote (Remote)

Hunter Hamilton is partnering with a high-growth organization to engage an experienced Technical Accountant to support complex accounting matters across US GAAP and IFRS. This is a remote W2 contract opportunity estimated to last 6-12 months, offering strong visibility, meaningful impact, and collaboration with cross-functional and global teams.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys deep technical work, researching complex issues, and serving as a trusted advisor to Finance, Legal, and business leadership.

The role is remote, however, candidates MUST reside in eastern or central time zones only.

Big4/Public Accounting experience is a nice to have skill set for this role.

  Support the development, implementation, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures under US GAAP and IFRS

  Research, interpret, and apply accounting guidance related to complex transactions, including leases, stock-based compensation, and derivatives

  
  
• 
  

  Serve as a subject matter expert for revenue recognition (ASC 606 / IFRS 15), reviewing complex contracts and documenting accounting conclusions

  
  
• 
  

  Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations to assess accounting implications of business initiatives and new transactions

  
  
• 
  

  Research authoritative guidance and develop accounting positions for non-routine or emerging transactions

  
  
• 
  

  Monitor accounting standards and regulatory developments to assess reporting impact and identify process improvement opportunities

  
  
• 
  

  Guide and train global accounting and finance teams, strengthening technical knowledge and best-practice application

  
  
• 
  

  Support M&A activities, including due diligence, valuation considerations, and purchase accounting

  
  

• 
  

  Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance

  
  
• 
  

  7+ years of progressive experience in a combination of public accounting and technical accounting roles

  
  
• 
  

  Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with proven experience preparing technical accounting memos

  
  
• 
  

  Hands-on expertise in ASC 606 / IFRS 15 and complex contract analysis

  
  
• 
  

  Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex standards

  
  
• 
  

  Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical accounting topics to non-technical stakeholders

  
  
• 
  

  Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and internal controls

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  
  
• 
  

  Tech industry experience preferred
