Crisis Clinician - Call Center (3rd Shift)

Heritage Behavioral Health Center - Remote Position
Full-Time | Crisis Call Center | Telehealth & Virtual Crisis Response
Shift: 3rd Shift (Overnight)

  • Monday: Work 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM with hour lunch
  • Every Other Tuesday: Wellness Day (off)
  • Wednesday & Thursday: Off
  • Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Work 11:00 PM - 8:00 AM with hour lunch

This schedule provides three consecutive days off midweek (Tuesday-Thursday) on alternating weeks, with Tuesday designated as a Wellness Day every other week to support employee well-being. It also ensures consistent coverage on high-demand weekend shifts while balancing rest and recovery for staff.

Salary
  • High School Diploma/GED + 5 years supervised clinical experience: $23.00/hour + every other Tuesday paid off
  • Bachelor's Degree: $25.00/hour + every other Tuesday off
  • Master's Degree: $60,000 annually + every other Tuesday off
  • Additional compensation available for CADC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, or LCPC
  • Salary based on education, experience, and licensure/certification.
Overview

The Crisis Clinician - Call Center (3rd Shift) serves as the first point of contact for individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health concerns, substance use crises, or other urgent situations. This fully remote position provides critical overnight coverage to ensure that support is available to anyone, anywhere, at any time.

Clinicians provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and referral to services. When necessary, they dispatch mobile crisis teams for inperson response in the community.

This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in a calm, independent, clinically focused overnight environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Provide telephone and virtual crisis intervention overnight
  • Use active listening, validation, and de-escalation skills to support individuals in crisis
  • Dispatch mobile crisis teams when onsite support is needed
  • Communicate effectively with callers, family members, and referral partners
  • Support callers of all ages-children, adolescents, adults, and older adults
  • Maintain relationships with referral sources and community providers
  • Collaborate with internal and external providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document all interactions accurately within the electronic health record
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Technology & Telehealth
  • Ability to provide crisis counseling via phone/video/telehealth platforms
  • Comfort with multiple forms of technology and remote communication
  • Ability to maintain a confidential, professional remote workspace
Crisis Intervention
  • Skilled at engaging individuals experiencing acute distress
  • Strong de-escalation and safety-assessment skills
  • Working knowledge of behavioral health diagnoses and symptoms
  • Ability to provide support to individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and dual diagnoses
Communication & Professionalism
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
  • Strong customer service skills and empathetic interaction
Organization & Judgment
  • Ability to prioritize caller safety and needs
  • Solid decision-making and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to navigate electronic health records
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Commitment to ongoing skill development and learning
Education & Experience
  • Experience providing crisis services strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a human services field preferred
  • Must be eligible to function as a Mental Health Professional (MHP)
  • QMHPs must obtain licensure (LSW, LPC) within 2 years
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance (rare inperson needs)
