The Role

At QuidelOrtho, we're advancing the power of diagnostics for a healthier future for all. Join our mission as our next Cloud Engineer. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to support business applications. The ideal candidate will ensure reliability, scalability, and security of cloud environments while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This position is remote eligible, with a strong preference for candidates who reside in New York.

The Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Manage and monitor cloud resources for performance and cost optimization.

  • Support deployment and configuration of virtual machines, storage, and networking in cloud environments.

  • Implement security best practices and maintain compliance standards.

  • Assist with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and provide timely resolutions.

  • Collaborate with application and operations teams to support cloud-based solutions.

  • Document cloud architecture and operational procedures.

  • Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning activities.

The Individual

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Knowledge of networking, storage, and compute services in cloud environments.

  • Basic understanding of automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell).

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

  • Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Understanding of compliance frameworks and cloud security best practices

Internal Partners:

Application Development, Infrastructure, and Security teams

External Partners:

Cloud service providers and technical support vendors

The Work Environment

No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. Collaborative environment with opportunities to work on cloud projects and develop technical expertise.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $89,000 to $142,000 and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
