JOB SUMMARY The senior project manager is responsible for managing the success of the operational excellence department in a fast paced and changing environment, This requires overseeing projects, or phase(s) of larger projects, using a combination of agile and traditional methodologies, The senior project manager is also responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire project lifecycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close), This includes coordinating the activities of the team by defining scope and project objectives, defining the role and function of each team member, managing day-to-day project activities, communicating project status, decisions, updates, and changes to all stakeholders, and facilitating data-driven decision making and project progress, The senior project manager is tasked with gathering and tracking deliverables to ensure timelines, milestones, and goals are met, managing project priorities, deadlines and deliverables independently, and building and maintaining working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects, The main responsibilities include managing staff, developing programs, reports, dashboards and continuous improvement processes, and utilizing the appropriate project management and advanced analytics techniques to shape the priority focus areas of the hospital that will ensure the best possible outcomes for patients, This role also plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the hospital meets all public reporting compliance criteria for Leapfrog, Vizient, CMS, and US News and World Report, JOB QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - Required Bachelor s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, information science, statistics, or related field Master s degree in information management, operations research, statistics, computer science, systems engineering or related field Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Type of Experience 5+ years experience working in the project management and data analytics domains in the healthcare industry, Experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and database management systems, Experience with programming languages such as SAS, SQL, Python, R or Stata, Expert knowledge of mathematics, statistics and advanced data analytics, Understanding and experience in applying predictive modeling, machine learning and advanced analytics algorithms, such as Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, SVM, K-means clustering, multivariate data analysis, etc, Professional level experience in pulling and integrating data from different sources, evaluating and preprocessing raw information, delving into data to discover discrepancies and patterns, building models that capture a wide range of healthcare operations, and presenting and explaining information in a clear and accessible way, Proficiency with data storage, data warehousing, and mining, Professional level experience working with clinical information systems and developing deep analytics and interpretation with associated data visualization, Professional level experience and proven success performing clinical workflows, user interface optimization, clinical decision support, rules development, data integration, clinical ontologies, and adoption of technology, Advanced level capabilities with Tableau, MS Excel, MS Visio, SSMS and related tools, Professional level experience with healthcare quality data analytics, public reporting, CMS data submission, and hospital rankings, Professional level experience working with Vizient s Clinical Database (CDB), Additional Requirements Epic Caboodle/Clarity Data Model certification preferred, Lean Six Sigma certification (LSSBB or LSSGB) preferred, Project Management Professional certification (PMP) preferred, Management Experience, Working knowledge of continuous improvement and process designs Skills required ta insight, and quality assurance of data and insights within a defined operational scope Program management, management consulting, process improvement, or quality improvement experience in a top tier organization, Researches outliers and identifies root causes of trends recognized in data analysis and reports, Previous success in managing quality measurement, reporting, and improvement activities at a healthcare organization, Previous success in managing performance improvement projects related to hospital operations, Exceptional communication skills, Highly organized and detail oriented, Knowledge of performance measurement industry trends, developments and future state directions, Strong problem-solving skills, Self-motivated, creative, and innately curios about the world of data management and consistently introducing innovation solutions to problems, Demonstrated success in working with and leading multiple teams from different disciplines as well as the ability to manage internal expectations on project requirements and timelines, Ability to handle multiple priorities, resolve conflicts, and manage project plans while communicating issues and concerns with all parties, Strong oral, written, and non-verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to foster and enhance professional working relationships, People-oriented and energetic attitude, Positive team player who is analytical and focused on results, Committed to improving quality and maintaining a spirit of cooperation and respect, Demonstrated cultural competence and ability to interface with a diverse, multi-cultural population; diplomatic and discreet; social, cultural and politically astute, The ability to collaborate with senior executives, management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements, Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
