Now Hiring: Pharmacist for a Medical Oncology Clinic with Infusion Site and Retail Pharmacy

Part Time up to 24 hours per week (M-F 8:00am-4:00pm)

No evenings or weekends and closed on major holidays.

Oncology experience preferred, but not required, we train on-site.

Missouri Cancer Associates is a multi-specialty practice including medical oncology, hematology, radiation oncology, and urology. We have 22 providers that service ten Missouri communities. Our main office is in Columbia. Through state-of-the-art medical technology, highly experienced physicians and nurse practitioners and quality patient care, Missouri Cancer Associates has become the premier Cancer Treatment Center in Mid-Missouri. In 2022, we celebrated our 40th year of taking care of patients!

We are looking for a friendly and hard-working Pharmacist to join our team.

Candidates should have an outgoing and friendly demeanor, a positive work ethic, and have a track record of working well with others in a team environment. We prefer applicants who have customer service experience. You must exemplify the values of our company and provide our patients with the highest levels of care.

This position is located at 1705 E Broadway Columbia, Missouri. Missouri Cancer Associates is affiliated with Urology Associates of Central Missouri and the US Oncology Network.

SCOPE:

Work with and oversee pharmacy technicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment under the supervision of our Director of Pharmacy. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.


Responsibilities

  • Under minimal supervision, compounds and dispenses medications, drugs, and other medications according to professional standards and practices.
  • Dispense and perform patient consultations for oral chemotherapy
  • Preparing and dispensing chemotherapy for in-clinic use
  • Submitting Prior Authorizations and Appeals for our practice physicians.
  • Organizes and directs technician workflow.
  • Assist with inventory control for retail and clinical medications and supplies.
  • Receives new drug education from drug representatives; remains abreast of new information.
  • Collaborate closely with our doctors, their collaborative nurses, and our clinic nurses to provide the best care for our patients.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff.
  • Oncology background preferred but not necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pharm.D. or Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Minimum two years' experience as a registered pharmacist, with an oncology background preferred.
  • Valid Missouri state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist.
