Job Summary: |
The Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism & Diabetes has an opening for a part-time (0.2 FTE) Clinical Sciences Professional to work on a qualitative study, Playing with Gender: A Qualitative Study and Educational Intervention on Diverse Sexual Practices in Transgender and Gender Diverse People. The Clinical Sciences Professional will perform qualitative research and be responsible for working closely with Primary Investigator, Dani Loeb MD, MPH, on all aspects of the study. This position will assist in maintaining the COMIRB; recruiting participants; interviewing participants; analyzing data; and presenting data through peer-reviewed conferences and publishing findings in papers. This position will also assist in writing further grants to fund the study. The Clinical Sciences Professional will meet weekly with research team through the course of the study. Preference will be given to applicants with a background in working with transgender and gender diverse adults. In addition, applicants should be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a team. Ability to work independently and set up interviews with participants is also key for this role. Key Responsibilities:
Recruit participants for additional interviews. Interview participants. Develop code book for complete interviews. Train research assistant in code book. Work with research assistant in coding all interviews with 25% double coding. Assist in writing up findings in manuscripts. Present findings at conferences. Assist in applying for additional funding.

Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications: Entry Level:
Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Intermediate Level:
Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. One (1) year clinical research or related experience.
Senior Level:
Bachelor's degree in social/behavioral sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Two (2) years clinical research or related experience. A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.
An advanced degree (Masters or PhD) may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis if the degree is in a field of study directly related to the work assignment. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in healthcare related field or social/behavioral sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Three (3) years of professional level experience in a role with direct clinical care. Previous experience working with transgender and gender diverse adults. Clinical work in healthcare related field.
Grant-writing experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution. Outstanding customer service skills. Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information. Experience working with vulnerable populations and discussing sensitive topics. Excellent analytic skills. Excellent analytic skills. Ability to work independently after training.

Anticipated Pay Range: |
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this part-time (0.2 FTE) position has been established as: Entry Level: $9,690 - $12,324 Intermediate Level: $10,545 - $13,412 Senior Level: $11,399 - $14,499 The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
