Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Summary:
As a Cash Applications Representative I you will play a pivotal role in the finance department by accurately processing and recording cash receipts and payments. You will work closely with the revenue cycle team to ensure that all financial transactions are correctly applied, reconciled, and accounted for. This position is ideal for individuals with strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining financial accuracy.

What you will do:

  • Receive, process, and accurately record all incoming cash payments, checks, credit card payments, and electronic funds transfers.
  • Ensure that all payments are applied to the appropriate patient accounts or ledgers.
  • Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner using hospital financial software.
  • Verify that payment amounts, payers, and account information match the corresponding documentation.
  • Reconcile daily cash receipts with the general ledger and bank deposits to identify discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve any variances or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Address patient inquiries related to billing and payments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, adjustments, and cash application activities.
  • Generate and review financial reports related to cash applications and assist with data analysis as required.
  • Ensure adherence to financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and confidentiality standards, including HIPAA.

What you will need:

  • Education: Associates Degree Finance Required Or Associates Degree Accounting Required
  • Experience: Previous experience in cash handling, payment processing, or related financial roles is a plus.
