As a Senior Receiving Inspection Specialist at Arete, you are responsible for completing quality inspections on materials and assemblies coming from internal & external sources across multiple programs. In conjunction with documenting non-conformances within the non-conformance database and actively participating in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings. Duties also include gathering, analyzing, and summarizing quality metrics to be used by the organization to track non-conformances, corrective actions, and overall performance of supply base. As well as ensure compliance to the Quality Management System (QMS) during inspections & audits. The position is based in our Niwot, CO office. This is a non-exempt non-supervisory full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform final inspections on complex assemblies, including laser top assemblies for diverse products, with minimal supervision
  • Exercise independent technical judgment when evaluating ambiguous or non-routine inspection conditions
  • Proactively identify defects and long-standing nonconformances and support corrective action implementation
  • Document and communicate inspection findings clearly to peers, leads, and senior management
  • Manage high-volume, multi-program inspection workloads while maintaining accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze quality metrics to improve throughput, reduce rework, and enhance inspection accuracy
  • Provide technical guidance or mentoring to peers as needed

Experiences and Background We Look For:

  • Five years of quality control or quality assurance experience
  • Experience using inspection equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Strong organizational and task prioritization skills
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
  • Training and/or experience with IPC-A-610 Class III, J-STD soldering standards, IPC-620, understanding of polymerics, and ability to complete solder inspection training
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, cable drawings, printed circuit board specifications, and procedures
  • Ability to review and audit material and assembly documentation for accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) concepts and standards
  • Experience working in ISO9000 or AS9100 production facilities
  • Expertise in inspection equipment and qualification testing, including measurement techniques for raw materials and assemblies
  • Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) creation
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Nice to Have (preferred skills):

  • Experience performing independent final inspections of complex electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions with low escalation rates
  • Proven track record of identifying defects, implementing corrective actions, and improving process reliability
  • Ability to present inspection results and data-driven analysis to leadership
  • Experience managing high-volume inspection work across multiple programs
  • Capability to mentor or support peers in inspection standards and best practices
  • Demonstrated impact on quality metrics, throughput, and rework reduction
  • Laser experience
  • Experience with Costpoint and/or TIPQA software

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
