By creating custom silicon and optimized architectures, the team ensures Tesla remains a leader in AI-driven automotive and energy solutions, shaping a future where intelligent machines enhance human life.

Candidate in this role will have ownership in all silicon test aspects from conceptualization through high volume ramp for a successful commercialization of Tesla's AI SOCs.

We are open to hiring in Austin, TX; Palo Alto, CA.


What You'll Do
  • Define and execute optimal test strategies for productization of AI SOCs in advanced fab process & packaging technologies
  • Define DOEs for failure analysis of silicon issues across bring up & qualification
  • Drive adoption of corrective actions across test, process and design in collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Partner closely with foundry, assembly, design & test partners from NPI bring up through high volume to optimize yield/quality/power/performance
  • Evaluate silicon across foundry sources, assembly and test sources - drive corrective actions to achieve parity of key product specifications
  • Set up test guard bands based on silicon data across characterization, correlation and qualification
  • Optimize & innovate test content across wafer probe, final test & SLT to achieve throughput/cost/quality goals

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals, impact of variation on key SOC specifications
  • Experience in volume data processing, statistical data analysis, Guage R&R analysis, scripting for automation
  • 5+ years of experience in structural/functional/parametric test bring up Advantest 93K or Teradyne Uflex ATE platform
  • Experience in cross platform correlation, production SLT platforms, qualification platforms is a bonus
