Qualifications

Job Description:



  1. Solicit new potential business by expanding account base.
  2. Achieve monthly group booking goals through effective negotiation and placement of business.
  3. Identify and develop new markets.
  4. Function as effective liaison between clients and hotel personnel.
  5. Accurately judge group leads for effective placement of business.
  6. Maintain and monitor existing accounts to ensure optimum booking activity.
  7. Achieve solicitation quotas and room night production goals.
  8. Maintain awareness of market situation and its impact on the hotel. Anticipate business needs with flexible planning.
  9. Attain personal booking goals on key account.
  10. Develop sales strategies to target individual markets and effectively execute these plans and actions.
  11. Negotiate rates and availability for group business.
  12. Interact in courteous and professional manner with all guests, staff and community members.
  13. Respond in courteous, professional and rapid manner in order to resolve all guest and staff difficulties.
  14. Apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of un-standardized intellectual and practical problems in order to perform and direct many varied and complex tasks.
  15. Supervise, direct, coordinate, influence and persuade staff in order to maintain service standards of hotel.
  16. Interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions, particularly interaction with supervisor, subordinates, co-workers, and guests in completing assignments, resolving staff and guest complaints.
  17. Interpret and comply with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic or schedule form.
  18. Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
  19. Maintain clean and safe work area.



Required Qualifications:



  1. Four Year College degree preferred
  2. A minimum of 3 to 4 years group experience in hotel sales.
  3. Extensive knowledge of hotel operations.
  4. Thorough knowledge of group market place
  5. Through knowledge of occupancy trends and competition in San Francisco.
  6. Ability to establish long-term relationship with clients.
  7. Ability to work independently and aggressively in selling.
  8. Ability to meet productivity requirements.
  9. Ability to sell selectively to obtain maximum room rate during high demand periods.
  10. Ability to negotiate and close maximum room occupancy during low and moderate demand periods.
  11. Ability to lead by example.
  12. Exceptional oral communication skills to ensure ability to negotiate and persuade guests and staff to achieve results beneficial to operation of hotel.
  13. Ability to access, input, analyzes and retrieves information from computers.
  14. Ability to maintain excellent relations with staff.
  15. Ability to maintain staff and guest confidentiality at all times.
  16. Ability to converse calmly with irate guests, superiors, co-workers and subordinates in sometimes intense emotional situations.
  17. Ability to focus and maintain attention to performance of tasks despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions.
  18. Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve dates, names, times and other data.
  19. Ability to work and complete assignments on time despite frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual interruptions.
  20. Ability to sit walks, stand, lift, reach, pull, push and grasp.
