Description
Reporting to the Sr. Human Resources Director, the Human Resources Generalist, has a focus on Talent Acquisition (TA) and Compensation and is a key contributor to the Human Resources Team. They are energetic, collaborative, nimble, creative, responsive, and a thought partner to the HR team to achieve outstanding results. The Generalist is responsible for recruiting and engaging talented and diverse individuals who will propel Fenway's mission and vision forward. The Generalist partners closely with hiring managers across the organization to support their staffing needs, exploring creative and innovative ways to fill positions, all while delivering an outstanding experience for every candidate and hiring manager. The Generalist also administers Fenway's compensation and position classification system, participating in and utilizing salary market surveys to ensure Fenway's pay remains competitive, equitable, and fair for all employees. They evaluate job positions, determine classification, exempt or non-exempt status, and salary grade, and maintain Fenway's job description library. The HR Generalist also assists with special projects and initiatives. Representative Duties: Talent Acquisition: Partner closely with the HR team and hiring managers to identify staffing needs, explore creative and innovative ways to recruit for open positions, track results, and deliver an outstanding experience for every candidate. Recruiting & Sourcing:
- Manage the full-cycle recruiting process across different disciplines and functional areas
- Own a portfolio of up to 40-50 job requisitions; sourcing candidates, evaluating resumes, prescreening applicants, coordinating interviews, performing reference checks, evaluating skills, and collaborating/providing guidance to hiring managers on compensation packages
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop a talent acquisition strategy and pipeline for clinical positions, including nurses and providers
- Conduct inclusive job searches that ensure we have teams of high performing, diverse, resilient and innovative talent
- Creatively source and interview candidates, validate applicant credentials, including reference checks, extend offers and analyze trend data
- Ensure robust, clear, responsive ongoing communication with candidates at every step of the hiring process
- Represent Fenway Health at career fairs in greater Boston and beyond building Fenway's brand and reputation as an employer of choice
- Acts as main point of contact for staffing agencies and recruiting firms
TA Process Improvement and Compliance:
- Work closely with members of the HR Team to ensure an outstanding candidate experience from interview, to onboarding, through their first year anniversary
- Build a robust library of TA reports including turnover, key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintain TA dashboard to help the organization use data to drive results
- Prepare the organization's annual Affirmative Action Plan (AAP)
- Participate in regular training for hiring managers on the Talent Acquisition hiring process, key legislation changes and other essential hiring topics
- Own guides, walkthroughs, and job aids to provide hiring managers with up-to-date and accurate recruiting support and provide updates as necessary
- Manage the day-to-day administration and oversight of the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Provide technical troubleshooting to staff; maintain data integrity, continually evaluate system functionality to ensure it is meeting business needs and work with vendor to make appropriate system enhancements and modifications.
Visa and Immigration:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees requiring U.S. immigration assistance. Provide guidance and support to employees throughout the visa application process, ensuring their understanding of requirements and timelines, along with furnishing employees with timely and relevant information and resources.
- Maintain and act as the main point of contact for immigration counsel
Compensation Administration
- Administer Fenway's compensation and position classification system to ensure Fenway's pay remains competitive, equitable, and fair for all employees; assist with the implementation of compensation programs, helping translate strategy into results
- Support compensation analysis activities including completing salary surveys and building a resource library of compensation surveys
- Maintain job descriptions for each position in the organization; ensure descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents
- Assess jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt, appropriate salary range, and career level
- Prepare and maintain job classifications and salary scales in HRIS
- Gathers data from market-based compensation surveys; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends
- Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information
- Conduct data and cost analyses to be used in employee salary negotiations and collective bargaining agreements
- Advise managers on applicable state and federal employment regulations, compensation policies, human resource procedures, and collective agreements.
Engage in special projects and initiatives and provide administrative support to the HR function
- In partnership with HR Team members and Fenway's Benefits Broker, assist in the redevelopment of Fenway's Total Compensation communication strategy
- Build trusting relationships with staff members and leaders at all levels of Fenway Health; serve as a credible resource on all areas of accountability
- Assist in updating and revising policies and procedures; interprets policies for our customers
- Develop and maintains reports and dashboards on a variety of topics pertaining to areas of accountability
- Respond to department phone calls, emails, and tickets, providing excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders

- Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
- Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field (or equivalent 4 years work experience)
- 3-5 years working in Human Resources
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in full-cycle recruitment
- Experience with and knowledge of sourcing effectiveness, screening, interview, selection, and candidate assessment techniques
- Experience with compensation programs and analysis work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize assigned duties
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with and present effectively to leadership, stakeholders and peers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a Human Resources Information System (HRIS); experience with Paylocity a plus
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations, such as EEO/AA, MEPA, FLSA, and employment laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of full-cycle recruitment processes and employer branding techniques
- Strong working knowledge of posting jobs on social media networks
- Outstanding knowledge of HRIS, ATS, Sourcing and Recruitment Marketing tools
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with an ethnically, culturally and racially diverse staff
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:
