About the Role

MWH is seeking a Scheduling Intern to join our team based in Phoenix, AZ. This role supports the planning and execution of high-profile water and wastewater construction projects and provides hands-on exposure to how complex infrastructure work is delivered.

As a Scheduling Intern, you will work alongside experienced project controls and construction professionals who are invested in mentoring and knowledge-sharing. You will gain practical experience building, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules while learning how scheduling supports decision-making on active projects.

We are looking for motivated students who are curious about the construction industry and eager to learn. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports communities and advances critical water infrastructure.

Essential Functions




  • Assist in creating and updating construction schedules, incorporating changes, delays, and unforeseen circumstances



  • Monitor project progress and identify areas where adjustments may be needed



  • Assist in analyzing project data to identify ways to optimize scheduling efficiency



  • Support the scheduling team in providing accurate and timely reports to management and stakeholders



  • Assist with developing, updating, and maintaining construction schedules under the guidance of project controls and scheduling staff



  • Track project progress and help identify schedule impacts, changes, or potential delays



  • Support schedule analysis by reviewing project data, activities, and sequencing to improve accuracy and efficiency



  • Prepare and help distribute routine schedule updates and reports for internal teams and project leadership



  • Collaborate with project teams to gather schedule-related inputs and verify progress information



  • Maintain organized scheduling documentation and support best practices for schedule controls




Basic Qualifications




  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field



  • Strong interest in the construction and infrastructure industry, with a desire to learn scheduling and project controls fundamentals



  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools



  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize and manage information accurately



  • Effective written and verbal communication skills



  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction




Preferred Qualifications




  • Coursework or exposure related to construction scheduling, project controls, or construction management



  • Familiarity with scheduling or project management software such as Primavera P6, Procore, or similar



  • Prior internship, co-op, or field experience in construction or engineering



  • Interest in water or wastewater infrastructure projects




Compensation: $25-$26 per hour
