SUMMARY OF THE ROLE
NextDecade is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Business Partner to join our NEXT team. This role is integral to our continued growth, supporting the business by building strong relationships with local management, key stakeholders, and employees. The ideal candidate will lead strategic HR initiatives and provide daytoday HR support, drawing on strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of HR policies, practices, and processes. This is a unique opportunity to partner with the business in a fastpaced environment and make a direct impact on the organization's growth and culture.
The position will be based in Brownsville, TX and will report to Sr. HR Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Employee & Labor Relations
  • Provide daytoday guidance to managers and employees on performance management, conflict resolution, corrective actions, and policy interpretation.
  • Independently manage and conduct employee relations investigations, including factfinding, documentation, risk assessment, and recommendations, ensuring alignment with policy and employment law.
  • Identify employee relations trends and risks, proactively coaching leaders to promote a respectful, consistent, and compliant work environment.
  • Talent Acquisition & Talent Management
  • Lead efforts to attract, onboard, and develop top talent by partnering with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and participating in the recruitment and selection process.
  • Support training and development initiatives throughout the year, ensuring employees remain informed, engaged, and equipped for success.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, workforce planning, succession planning, talent reviews, and change management initiatives.
  • HR Business Partnering
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local management, key stakeholders, and employees to understand and address HR needs and business challenges.
  • Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to connect people's strategies to business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive decisionmaking through strong relationshipbuilding and executive presence.
  • Drive HR initiatives that support business objectives and strengthen a positive, inclusive work culture across areas such as engagement, performance management, and retention.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance HR programs and processes while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Support employee mobilizations to Brownsville, TX, ensuring smooth transitions and a positive relocation experience.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management, or a related field.
  • Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience may include a combination of HR generalist work, employee relations, training and development, compensation, and HR data analysis.
  • Experience working in oil & gas, manufacturing, or similar industry.
  • Employee Relations
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and corrective action processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law as it relates to workplace conduct, performance management, and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and materials with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • HR Knowledge & Compliance
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, labor and employee relations, and HR policies and practices.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, attention to detail, and strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Workday or related HRIS system.
  • Leadership & Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to build trust and foster strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, influence skills, and the ability to advise leaders effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong conflictmanagement and decisionmaking capabilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • HR certifications are a plus (i.e., SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, etc.).
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).
  • Certifications in competency or personality assessments (e.g., Birkman or similar tools).
  • 10 years in Human Resources.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts, and data visualization tools.
  • Direct experience working on construction sites, in operating facilities within the oil and gas industry, or in LNG terminals is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work in a fastpaced environment with evolving business needs and multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and ability to shift priorities as business demands change.
Job Site Work Environment
* Must be able to wear all necessary PPE equipment to perform job functions.
* Operates in a complex construction environment.
* Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
* Not necessarily protected from weather and temperature changes. Possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions.
* Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical circuits.
* Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds of a pitch level sufficient to cause marked distraction.
* Routinely uses standard office and field communications equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers w/scanner and fax, and radios.

* Ability to drive to other Company work locations as required.
