The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing seeks one Columbia University student to assist with the IMPROVE Cardiac Care Study, a federally funded research project examining how Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs) inform clinical decision-making for heart failure patients. This position will primarily support image and video analysis. The student will contribute to developing an adapted framework for incorporating PROs into cardiovascular clinical practice and shared decision-making

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

* Coding verbal and non-verbal communication behaviors from video recordings using Noldus Observer software * Maintaining accurate documentation of video analysis procedures and coding decisions

* Assisting with data quality checks and inter-rater reliability assessments

* Supporting literature reviews related to patient-clinician communication and PROs

* Preparing data summaries and visualizations for research team meetings

* Participating in research meetings

* Performing other related duties as assigned This is a temporary position with a flexible work schedule.

This is a grant funded position and continued employment is contingent upon the grant.

Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and database entry/management skills
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Interest in clinical research projects, cardiovascular disease, patient reported outcomes, and/or health informatics


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working with multimodal data sets
  • Experience working with video data
  • Master's degree in a related field (completed or in progress)
