Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Mind Health Counselor is essential to supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of our employees at Promega. This role focuses on providing professional clinical services including assessments, interventions, prevention, and consultation. The counselor will be a core part of our wellness team, contributing to the overall health and productivity of our employees.

CORE DUTIES:

1. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to promote optimum mental and emotional health.

2. Help clients deal with issues such as stress, substance abuse, and family situations, by implementing effective therapeutic strategies.

3. Assess clients through detailed conversations, interviews, and observations to determine the appropriate testing or examination.

4. Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge.

5. Collaborate with other health professionals to plan or manage treatment.

6. Regular documentation and maintenance of client records in accordance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

7. Meet continuing education requirements established by licensing authorities, as well as staying current with the latest therapeutic advances in the field.

8. Demonstrates inclusion through their own words and actions and is accountable for a safe workspace. Acts with kindness, curiosity, and respect for others.

9. Embracing and being open to incorporating Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.

10. Understands and complies with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Master's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field.

2. Valid Wisconsin state licensure as a professional counselor (LPC).

3. Minimum of three years of experience in a clinical setting.

4. Strong people skills with the ability to foster a cooperative work environment.

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

6. Experience with crisis management and intervention.

7. Demonstrated proficiency in digital tools and technology, including Microsoft applications and mobile platforms, with the ability to adapt and leverage emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, automation, and collaboration.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Expertise in one or more therapeutic modality that support trauma work, such as:

a. EMDR

b. Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy

c. Internal Family Systems

d. Somatic Experiencing

e. Cognitive Processing Therapy

f. Dialectic Behavioral Therapy

g. Group Psychotherapy Modalities

h. Couples Therapy

2. Proficiency in assessing and treating the following conditions would also bring great value: substance use disorders, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and eating disorders.

3. Experience in corporate wellness programs.

4. Experience in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, Holotropic/other breathwork, or other expanded state facilitation.

5. Experience implementing mindfulness, meditation, and/or breathing exercises in session.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

1. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods during sessions.

2. Ability to use a computer and other office technology sufficiently to accomplish daily tasks.
