JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Penn State Berks invites applications for the opening of part-time Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. Penn State Berks is an NCAA Division III institution and a member of the United East Conference. Job Duties
  • Responsibilities include day-to-day operations, coaching and conditioning of athletes, practice and game preparation, and team travel.
  • The Head Coach will develop and implement a comprehensive recruiting and retention program as well as perform organizational tasks as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
  • The Head Coach will also be responsible for understanding and maintaining compliance with NCAA and United East rules and regulations.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Successful playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferable.
  • Previous recruiting preferred.
  • The successful candidate must have demonstrated knowledge of the sport and the ability to communicate well with team players.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete, and to the highest of ethical standards.
  • A bachelor's degree, previous playing and/or coaching experience, and availability for practice and competition are required.
  • May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
