Initial Cadre Instructor/Check Pilot (PC-24)

PURPOSE:

Serves as a "Initial Cadre" Instructor Pilot/Check Pilot (IP/CP) for the standup of a Pilatus PC-24 flight program under existing 14 CFR Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate. Incumbent will initially be involved in qualification as a PIC, Instructor Pilot, and Check Pilot in the PC-24 in accordance with FAA "Initial Cadre Check Pilot" guidance. Incumbent will perform training and checking activities under the observation of an FAA inspector as part of the initial qualification process. Once fully qualified, the incumbent will conduct training and checking for line pilots to support program crew staffing needs.

This role may be fulfilled on a salaried, temporary basis, or on a contract (1099) basis. Following initial program standup, ongoing (non-temporary) employment as a PIC and IP/CP may be available as a transition option for a successful candidate.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provides ground and flight training to program pilots, as assigned, in accordance with the company Pilot Training Program for the PC-24.
  • Provides classroom (ground) instruction in both aircraft and non-aircraft-specific subjects including non-aircraft-specific subjects (e.g., Basic Indoctrination, General Operational Subjects, etc.)
  • Provides pilot flight instruction in aircraft and simulator equipment, as assigned.
  • Administers oral, written, and practical testing of pilots in accordance with applicable CFRs, OpSpecs, the company training program, and appropriate testing standards.
  • Completes, with timeliness and accuracy, all required documentation following training and testing activities.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Training (DOT) and Chief Pilot (CP) in researching, evaluating, and implementing new or revised training or operational procedures for the PC-24 aircraft type.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Training.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:



  • Must possess Airline Transport Certificate (ATP); Airplane Multi-Engine Land (ATP-AMEL).
  • Must possess PC-24 aircraft type rating with no restrictions.
  • Must hold a Class I Medical Certificate.
  • Prior experience in Part 135 or 121 operations.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Overall Pilot Experience

    • 3,500 hours Total Time flying
    • 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
    • 1,500 hours Multi-Engine (MEL) flying
    • 500 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Multi-Engine (MEL)
    • 300 hours Instrument
    • 500 hours (preferably PIC) in PC-24 type aircraft
    • Significant recent PIC flight experience (within preceding 12 months) in the PC-24 aircraft and recent training and competency/proficiency check under Part 61 or 135.




Preferred:



  • Prior experience as a flight or simulator instructor pilot/check pilot under 14 CFR 121 or 135 or 142.
  • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument - AMEL


Physical/Environmental Requirements:



  • Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., perform assigned pilot duties involving confined sitting for up to 10 flight hours per day and be exposed to a wide variety of environmental and weather conditions while working outside including, but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Be able to travel to accomplish training and job duties.
