JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary: Facilities Supervisor is Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing all building systems and equipment at the plant. The facilities supervisor may be responsible for managing construction or renovation projects, coordinating with contractors and ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget. This role ensures a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment for all employees, contractors and vendors by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and supporting facility upgrades and improvements. Reports to: Plant Maintenance & Engineering Manager and may interact regularly with maintenance staff, safety personnel, and external contractors/vendors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Displays laser focus efforts for personal and company achievement of "Driving Forward" Behaviors
- Establish and maintain good safety and housekeeping practices and assure adherence through inspection and investigation to provide safe working conditions
- Perform/oversee routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, and parking lots Respond promptly to facility-related service requests and emergencies, troubleshooting and resolving issues to minimize downtime
- Monitor and maintain facility safety systems, such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, and security systems Inspect and repair facility infrastructure, including floors, walls, doors, windows, and roofs
- Support equipment installation, relocation, and upgrades as required for the plant
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections under their responsibility
- Ensure the facility and property is clean, safe, and well-maintained by managing janitorial staff, lawn and snow removal staff/services
- Manage/oversee cafeteria vendor and address concerns when warranted
- Work collaboratively with production, safety, Maintenance and engineering teams to identify and address facility needs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards related to facilities and workplace safety
- Develop and manage budgets for facility needs, including supplies, repairs, and contracted services
- Order supplies and parts as needed, coordinating with vendors and contractors for specialized services
- Participate in facility improvement projects, including renovations, expansions, and sustainability initiatives when required
- Be familiar with and capable of directing the plant emergency organization
- Coordinate the activities of Contractors, vendors, and other visitors involved in the maintenance and repair of building systems and/or facilities
- Report/eliminate HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect team members, assets, or the public
- Complete all required and applicable training required by Adient and its customers
- Comply with all BOS, ISO/TS-16949 Customer Specific Requirements.
EHS Requirements:
- Adhere to all Health, Safety and Environmental Standards and participate in all required training
- Report occupational injuries, illnesses and accidents
- Report hazardous, unsafe and unhealthy conditions
- Assist plant in achieving safety goals; as well as, achieving and maintaining AMS objectives
- Participate in EHS activities and/or committees, including but not limited to, ergonomics assessments, safety Kaizen events, safety audits, safety problem solving, and safety observation/feedback events
Education / Experience / Skills:
- High School Diploma/GED required; technical certification or associate degree in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and OSHA safety regulations
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and communication
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Occasional overtime, after-hours or weekend work may be necessary
- Ability to respond to facility emergencies outside of regular business hours as needed
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations while performing tasks which may require multiple steps
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred
