POSITION TITLE: MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR II

FUNCTION:

Performs a variety of duties to assist in the processing and closing of mortgage loans. Mortgage Loan Processor II may be assigned more challenging and complex loan files and is expected to process and maintain a larger pipeline with less supervision than a Mortgage Loan Processor I. This position includes processing government & construction loan products. Position may involve evening and weekend hours to supplement mortgage processing capacity during peak volume periods. This position provides flexibility for a partial remote work schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and manage a pipeline of mortgage loans to assure timely closings, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and investor purchase.
  • Setup of new mortgage files received from Loan Officers. Reviews, updates & inputs data into the mortgage loan origination system (LOS) and performs loan set up functions including ordering of credit reports, appraisals, flood determination, etc.
  • Processes more complex files including FHA/VA/USDA, state bond agency and Jumbo loans.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of FHA/VA/USDA, state bond agency and FNMA/FHLMC loan processing requirements.
  • Reviews submitted loan files for accuracy and completeness. Prepares loan files for underwriting, completes required automated underwriting submissions (DU, LPA) and reviews findings, Uplinks mortgage loans and documentation into investor portals accurately and completely.
  • Processes filing investor guidelines and maximizing customer satisfaction and BayCoast Mortgage pipeline management. Clears conditions working with loan officers, underwriters and investors
  • Prepares disclosures and processing documents as required in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Verifies that approved conditions and findings documentation requirements are met, while working to meet all timelines for closing.
  • Conducts verifications of loan and application information. Requests payoffs, credit updates, insurance binders and other.
  • Requires excellent time management and communication skills used to interact with customers, attorneys, appraisers etc. to ensure expectations are met for a timely loan process and closing.
  • Maintains a current registration with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) if applicable.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements:

General business knowledge and PC skills required. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a mortgage or loan processing environment. Strong communication and customer service skills required. Ability to work in a team environment to produce results under deadline commitments with a minimum of supervision.
