The Business Development Manager - Medical Electronics is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the medical electronics market segment. This role leads global growth strategies and works closely with OEMs and EMS partners to deliver customized adhesive solutions for medical device assembly.

The position carries a clear objective to drive doubledigit annual growth and significantly expand revenue over the next five years through strategic market development, customer engagement, and technical collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities Global Strategy & Market Analysis
  • Develop and execute global business strategies to achieve doubledigit growth and meet longterm revenue targets
  • Analyze medical electronics market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to identify highpotential applications and regions
  • Convert datadriven insights into regional and global growth plans and optimized resource allocation
Market & Customer Opportunity Development
  • Allocate approximately 60% of time to customer opportunity development and new business acquisition
  • Focus on medical electronics applications including CGM devices, IV systems, IVD equipment, OTC hearing aids, cardio health patches, insulin patch pumps, and other wearable or diagnostic devices
  • Pursue strategic new account opportunities and align crossfunctional resources, including R&D, to support longterm growth
Technical Solutions & Innovation
  • Deliver comprehensive adhesive solutions for medical electronics, with strong emphasis on UVcurable materials for bonding, sealing, and coating
  • Support development of biocompatible and sterilizable adhesive solutions for medical device applications
  • Ensure solutions meet customer technical requirements, regulatory standards, and validation processes while aligning to H.B. Fuller's innovation objectives
Customer Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with OEMs and EMS providers
  • Develop longterm collaboration strategies based on deep understanding of customer business and technical requirements
  • Clearly communicate and position H.B. Fuller's value proposition and strategic fit
Regulatory Standards & Compliance
  • Demonstrate expertise in medical industry regulations and quality systems, including ISO 13485, FDA guidelines, biocompatibility, and sterilization processes
  • Ensure regulatory compliance throughout product development, qualification, and delivery
Project Management & Global Collaboration
  • Manage complex, global technical projects by coordinating crossfunctional teams including R&D, Supply Chain, and Customer Service
  • Operate effectively within a global, matrixed organization to drive coordinated growth across regions
Sales Process & Tools
  • Utilize Salesforce and pricing tools consistently to manage pipeline, forecasting, and opportunity tracking
  • Develop and execute sales plans that optimize product mix, pricing strategy, and service offerings to maximize customer value and company profitability
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of medical electronics markets and medical device assembly applications
  • Expertise in UVcurable adhesive technologies for bonding, sealing, and coating medical electronics
  • Handson experience with adhesives and polymer chemistry, including biocompatible and sterilizable materials
  • Solid knowledge of medical regulatory standards and validation processes (ISO 13485, FDA, biocompatibility, sterilization)
  • Excellent communication, problemsolving, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to influence decisions in complex, global environments
  • Strong strategic planning and market analysis capabilities to drive sustained doubledigit growth
Minimum Requirements
  • 10+ years of business development experience in medical electronics or a related industry
  • Demonstrated success in new business development and market expansion
  • Proven expertise supporting medical device applications with UVcurable adhesive solutions
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in technical, mechanical, electronics, chemistry, or marketing discipline preferred
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel (travel percentage dependent on geographic scope and territory size)
Compensation

The base salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, including factors such as local cost of living, market conditions, and regional pay practices. Total compensation may also include variable incentives and participation in H.B. Fuller's comprehensive benefits programs, in accordance with company policy.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $136,000 - $158,000. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible to participate in the Sales Incentive Plan.
