Career Opportunity

We are currently seeking candidates for the Information Technology (IT) & Compliance Officer position at our corporate office in Chesapeake, VA. This position offers a remote work schedule upon completion of initial training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintain IT policies and the System Security Plan (SSP) for company information systems.
  • Coordinate periodic audits to assess compliance with the SSP, NIST SP 800 171 / SP 800 53 controls, and CMMC Level 2.
  • Manage IT infrastructure, information system upgrades, and service providers.
  • Lead cybersecurity policy and regulatory compliance efforts.
  • Investigate, report, and mitigate cybersecurity incidents and findings to senior leadership.
  • Integrate cost effective, risk based cybersecurity controls into all deployed IT assets.
  • Develop mitigation plans and remediate findings from emerging threats and audits.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for information systems and cybersecurity.
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and recommend strategic solutions to increase data security.
  • Continuously evaluate technology operations and existing systems for effectiveness and control performance.
  • Advise and support senior management on strategic system conversions and integrations aligned with the corporate strategic plan.
  • Partner with internal leaders to assess emerging technologies and oversee the design, implementation, and training for new applications and changes to existing systems.

Travel

  • This position includes a low level of travel.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field-or equivalent experience in addition to 7-10+ years required experience.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience across IT/security, including 3-5+ years focused on governance, risk, and compliance for government contractors (e.g., NIST 800-171/CMMC programs).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to translate technical risk for non-technical leaders.
  • Strong vendor/service providers oversight and shared-responsibility management.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple parallel initiatives.
  • Meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • One or more strongly preferred: CISSP, CISM, CAP, Security+.
  • CMMC Certified Professional (CCP) or Certified CMMC Assessor (CCA) is a plus.
  • PMP or equivalent project-management credential is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired; however, candidates eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor or manager when not in the office.

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Reaching, handling, and using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
