Connected Logistics is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) - Senior for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Program Office, located in Battle Creek, MI. As the DBA for CAGE, you will be responsible for all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design. As the DBA for the CAGE system, you will manage and maintain Oracle databases supporting the CAGE system of applications with a strong emphasis on security compliance, data integrity, and high availability within secure, mission-critical environments like an Azure cloud environment. Key Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: Database Management and Operations o Installation and Maintenance: Installing, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Oracle database software and related tools, including applying Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and security patches. o Performance Tuning: Proactively monitoring and optimizing database performance using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), SQL Tuning Advisor, and AWR reports to ensure responsiveness and system availability. o Backup and Recovery: Developing, implementing, testing, and managing robust backup and disaster recovery strategies using tools such as Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Oracle Data Guard to prevent data loss and minimize downtime. o Capacity Planning: Monitoring usage and analyzing data to plan for future storage and hardware requirements to accommodate scalable growth. Security and Compliance (DoD-Specific Focus) o Security Enforcement: Implementing and enforcing stringent security measures and access controls in compliance with DoD and service-specific security policies. o STIG Compliance: Applying and maintaining compliance with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) for all Oracle database and WebLogic servers. o Auditing and Reporting: Configuring Oracle Audit Vault and managing audit trails, as well as generating reports for accreditation and compliance purposes. o Risk Management: Identifying operational and infrastructure risks and working within the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to mitigate them and maintain the system's Authority to Operate (ATO). Collaboration and Support o Application Development Support: Collaborating with application development teams on database design considerations, schema changes, and query optimization and development of new databases. o Troubleshooting: Providing advanced, 24/7 technical support for database-related incidents, requests, and complex problems, often participating in on-call rotations. o Documentation: Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of database configurations, processes, and operational procedures to support team efforts and compliance audits. o Modernization: Participating in cloud migration initiatives (e.g., to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Azure) and supporting DevOps practices and automation efforts.
