LAN - Shift 1 ($0) (United States of America - Michigan)

A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Working Lead, Receiving owns the coordination and execution of the day-to-day operations of the Receiving functions and Billet Lathe area. As needed, they work with other leads and management to ensure the billet lathe area is queued up and running to supply forge.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Gather material certs and verify in the ERP system.
  • Execute processes to receive, inspect, store, or ship materials, ensuring adherence to established timelines and accuracy standards.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts on a regular basis.
  • Conduct receiving quality inspection activities.
  • Unloading of freight trucks.
  • Operate forklift for loading product in and out of trucks and storage locations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, quality, and procurement, to align shipping/receiving activities with operational needs and priorities.
  • Load and secure scrap barrels on pallets for shipment and delivery of scrap.
  • Queues work in front of machines in alignment with production targets and production requests while communicating all risks in maintaining flow proactively to Scheduling and Manager.
  • Works with Manager and Scheduling to have machine level schedule that optimizes efficiency.
  • Identify inefficiencies in receiving and affected production processes and recommends solutions to improve accuracy, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage and maintain all aspects of inventory by use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage inventory control through receipt of materials, application of company labels and purchase order confirmation; expedite inspection of materials through notifications to quality control.
  • Maintains work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assigns work to ensure On-Time In Full completion of work. Monitors individual productivity, as directed by Supervisors. Reports outcomes to Supervisor.
  • Assists Supervisor in developing and implementing procedures, and ensures they are being followed.
  • Keeps the Supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
  • Daily and where needed, performs the work of the team members, ensuring coverage and continuous operation.
  • Coaches team members to be successful.
  • Communicates the performance goals to the individuals in the department.
  • Assists in eliminating safety hazards; promote safe work practices and environment; investigate accidents as necessary.
  • Completes various reports, audits, checklists, and training forms as scheduled or requested and provide information to other personnel as necessary.
  • Supports providing and documenting training to ensure team members have the required knowledge and skills prior to performing job duties independently.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of procedures and ensures compliance. Additionally, supports the development of compliance procedures.
  • Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Or Equivalent (Required)
  • Associates (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ Years of Experience in a Manufacturing Environment (Required)
  • 2+ Years of Experience in Shipping, Receiving, and Packaging (Required)
  • Experience Leading a Small Group or Project Team (Preferred)
  • Experience of the processes in the work area (Preferred)
  • Experience as a Trainer (Preferred)
