Overview

TRC Advanced Energy (TRC) collaborates with clients to develop and implement market transforming programs and initiatives that promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green building in multiple market sectors across the US and around the world. These initiatives reduce energy costs, improve the health and safety conditions of buildings, while also helping the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. TRC acts nationally to address some of our country's most challenging problems: global climate change and energy independence.

TRC is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated Project Associate to contribute to the implementation of state and regional initiatives related to clean energy workforce development. As a Project Associate, you will play a key role in implementing solutions and interventions to address workforce training and skills gaps that impact clean energy employers in various sectors. You will contribute to a highly successful and visible statewide public benefit workforce development program, engaging with training providers, industry organizations, and clean energy businesses to advance workforce development solutions.

Location: New York State, or working from a TRC office in Clifton Park, New York City, Ithaca, Melville, West Seneca, or Liverpool.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement transformative clean energy workforce development and training initiatives.
  • Support project managers in maintaining strong relationships with program participants to ensure projects stay on schedule and meet deliverables.
  • Use effective systems and processes to track project status for reporting, efficiency, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure high standards of work quality, communication, and deliverables.
  • Promote initiatives to a range of stakeholders.
  • Review project deliverables, such as curriculum materials, trainee participation data, and other documentation, to ensure compliance with the Scope of Work.
  • Effectively use technology platforms to monitor project status for reporting, efficiency, and strategic planning.
  • Uphold high standards of work quality, communication, and client deliverables.
  • Gather market feedback to refine workforce development strategies, address technical and market challenges, and scale training initiatives.
  • Provide feedback on NYSERDA program design to ensure it achieves intended outcomes, is user-friendly, and meets stakeholder needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to measure and communicate program results, using insights to improve program implementation.
  • Attend career exploration events and similar events across New York State to share information on clean energy career opportunities and NYSERDA Workforce Development and Training Programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree with relevant experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience in technical education/training, green building, clean energy, or building science industries.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think holistically about complex challenges involving technical and non-technical components.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with a proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Exceptional organizational, time-management, and planning abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage key stakeholder groups.
  • Analytical skills to evaluate data and make informed decisions.
  • Awareness of social, economic, and environmental contexts related to statewide energy and workforce development policies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in workforce education or training or relevant experience in the renewable or energy efficiency markets with demonstrated knowledge of the related market participants, stakeholders and workforce training and development initiatives.
  • Experience working with a department of labor, community college workforce development program, or related entities.
  • Experience with jobs training, workforce development, and/or supportive services administration for members of disadvantaged communities.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
