What's the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking a full-time entry level engineer to join our Madison, Wisconsin office. This position will support environmental and civil engineering projects through preparing technical reports, performing engineering calculations, analyzing field data, and supporting the development of design documents, as well as supporting environmental sampling (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water), field investigations, and construction observation. Work may require travel, primarily within the Great Lakes region (Wisconsin and Michigan), and occasionally elsewhere in the United States.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively, show initiative and attention to detail, and possess a strong interest in environmental engineering and construction.

Responsibilities:



  • Provide support for environmental and civil engineering projects through engineering analyses, field investigations, and construction oversight.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including design drawings, technical specifications, cost estimation, and calculations
  • Assist with data evaluation and report writing (e.g., sampling plans, investigation reports, design reports)
  • Support multidisciplinary projects involving remediation and infrastructure
  • Perform environmental sampling (soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, biota)
  • Deploy and operate field equipment including hydraulic gradient devices, GPS units, data loggers, and sampling vessels (e.g., jon boats, pontoon boats)



What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:



  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • 2 or more years of related experience in environmental engineering or similar work
  • Experience with contaminated sediment or upland remediation and field data collection technologies
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
  • ArcGIS or CAD experience preferred
  • Small vessel operator certification a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred; may be provided upon hire)
  • Ability to travel for field projects (up to 40%, depending on location and project needs)

  • Annual Bonus

Base Level Benefits for Regular Full-Time Positions:
