Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions ( SHP) is seeking a Graduate Assistant to work in the Department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Counseling Professions.

The Graduate Assistant provides administrative, clinical, and operational support to ensure the functioning of the counseling clinic.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintain clinic calendar, appointment scheduling, and client records in compliance with HIPAA and university policies.
  • Support clinic orientation and training sessions for practicum/internship students.
  • Prepare reports, forms, and documentation for supervision and grant reporting purposes.
  • Ensure counseling rooms and technology (telehealth platforms, recording systems, secure data storage) are operational.
  • Assist in tracking client data, session recordings, and evaluation forms.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clinical materials and records.
  • Support crisis management protocols under supervision of licensed faculty.
  • Participate in data collection for clinic outcomes, client satisfaction, and service utilization reports.
  • Assist with marketing, outreach, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinic procedures and student training materials.
  • Attend supervision and staff meetings as required.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior consistent with ACA, CRCC, and institutional standards.
  • Engage in reflective practice and contribute to a supportive learning environment.

Qualifications






Minimum Education and Experience

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree preferably in a mental health related field.
  • Must be a Rutgers student enrolled in a graduate program, preferably with an emphasis in psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, rehabilitation counseling, or a social work specialty.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of the position.
  • Sufficient keyboard and spreadsheets skills to work with widely used programs such as Excel, SPSS, and Word.
