In 2016, Berkshire Hathaway, led by Chairman and CEO Warren E. Buffett, acquired Precision Castparts Corp. Job Description Purpose: This position will report to be the Responsible Level III. They will be tasked with qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, auditing NDT systems at their assigned facility and evaluation and compliance of all NDT processes and systems. The NDT Level III shall be recognized internally and externally as a technical expert in their field. They are to be competent to act as a technical liaison representing PCC Ogden a technical contact. Essential Job Functions: Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to be in compliance with customer specification and requirements. Train, test and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of PCC's Quality Control procedures. Analyze and interpret inspection quality data, conduct research on product defects, and recommend modification in products or quality standards, where such appear to be warranted. Serves as liaison with customers on items NDT related inspection and visit customers and suppliers where necessary on specific inspection matters. Provide guidance and expertise to sales, engineering and manufacturing on NDT issues with regards to customer inquiries. Perform system audits on all NDT areas of the assigned campuses and annexes. Assist in the development of new NDT process and procedures with regards to new technology and customer approval of that technology. Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to the inspection departments, including ability to interpret codes standards and other contractual documents. Assist Responsible Level III as required and directed in all aspects of the NDT inspection program. Develop new inspection methods and/or programs that promote cost reduction activities. Required Experience Qualifications: Requires a degree in engineering or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3 to 5 years aerospace and investment casting experience required. Certified (or certifiable within 120 days) ASNT Level III in Penetrant (PT). Level III in Radiographic Testing (RT) or other methods may be required.
