Salary Range: **$140,000 to $185,000 per year

** Starting salary is based on minimum education and years of experience and increases based on education and/or experience.

Overview: WOOD is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer Level 2 to support a missioncritical program in the Annapolis Junction area. This role is ideal for an experienced systems engineer who thrives in complex technical environments, excels at driving system lifecycle activities, and enjoys collaborating closely with government stakeholders and crossfunctional engineering teams. As a Level 2 SE, you will play a key role in shaping system architectures, guiding design decisions, leading technical assessments, and ensuring the integrity of complex hardware/software systems across their lifecycle. This is a highimpact opportunity where your technical leadership directly contributes to nationallevel mission success.

This position requires all candidates to be U.S. Citizens and possess an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with a Polygraph.



Responsibilities

Systems Analysis & Architecture

    Analyze user requirements, CONOPS, and highlevel architectures to develop system requirement specifications.
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation and incorporate new designs into operational environments.
  • Generate system concepts, physical architectures, and alternative design solutions.

Technical Leadership & Integration

  • Provide technical leadership for integrating requirements, design, and emerging technologies.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through SE management plans, integration plans, and test plans.
  • Interact with government stakeholders to resolve SErelated issues and ensure program alignment.
Lifecycle Engineering & Documentation
  • Develop and review Systems Engineering Plans, Requirements Specs, Interface Control Documents, and other SE documentation.
  • Review WBS, work packages, and IMPs to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain technical integrity of the system baseline and manage changes throughout the lifecycle.

Requirements Development & Traceability

  • Manage system and derived requirements for compatibility with DoDAF and SOA architectures.
  • Derive lowerlevel requirements and ensure they are correct, complete, unique, verifiable, and traceable.
  • Assist in functional and system requirements allocations across hardware, software, facilities, and personnel.

Configuration, Risk, & Integration Management

  • Coordinate resolution of CCB action items, program reviews, design reviews, and test reviews requiring crossdiscipline input.
  • Assess program risks, determining probability, consequence, and mitigation strategies.
  • Establish formal processes for system integration across multiple teams.

Information Assurance & Compliance

  • Develop derived IA requirements (confidentiality, integrity, availability, etc.).
  • Support DoD and other government Certification & Accreditation processes.
  • Support development and review of JCIDS documentation such as ICDs, CDDs, and IA strategies.

Verification, Testing, & Performance Analysis

  • Define methods and criteria for verifying systems and subsystems.
  • Plan verification efforts early in development to reduce risk.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses in key nonfunctional areas such as reliability, survivability, and maintainability.
  • Prepare timeline analysis diagrams to illustrate timedependent system functions.


Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • 14+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer supporting programs of similar scope and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related technical field.
    • Five additional years of SE experience may substitute for the degree.
  • 3 years of experience in legal or technical aspects of Intelligence Community privacy compliance.
  • 2 years of experience with MPO systems architecture.
