The research and development effort includes a diverse staff of theoretical and experimental physicists, hardware designers and software engineers around the world. We are looking for a Quantum Software Engineer. This role is in a team charged with building a scalable commercial quantum computer, the first of its kind. This involves designing, implementing, and integrating system software that is responsible for the initialization and running of quantum components in real time. The candidate will help in developing and implementing novel algorithms to solve a variety of computationally hard problems. They will also be expected to collaborate with experimentalists and hardware designers on current and future designs. Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience. 1+ year(s) of experience in software engineering, with coding fluency in an object-oriented language (e.g. C++, C#, Java) and a scripting language (e.g. shell, bash, Python). Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $109,000 - $180,400 per year.
