APS is looking for full-time ABET Accredited Engineering studentswho can help guide our business forward!Students who are interested in experiencing, practicing and learning engineering systemsand fundamentals in real work settings. The Palo Verde Summer internship is a paid 10-week program starting in May, ending in July. During the 10 weeks at Palo Verde, you will be equipped with the tools needed to thrive and be challenged with meaningful individual projects.You will get support from leaders who will help you succeed. Interns will also have the opportunity to participate in a New Hire Orientation, Professional Development opportunities and company tours to learn more about Palo Verde and Arizona Public Service. Qualified students will receive housing during the program. The primary recruiting method for Palo Verde is through attendance of college career fairs. We will be represented at the following schools: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, University of Arizona, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, New Mexico State University, University of New Mexico, Missouri University of Science and Technology, University of Wisconsin- Madison, Grand Canyon University, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Colorado School fo the Mines. This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, 'U.S. Export Control Laws'). For positions at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Stations (PVNGS) all openings will require applicants to be a U.S. person. Hybrid:Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person). In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon for random Fitness For Duty Testing (FFD) during scheduled working hours. Employees must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified. | |
