  • Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services and more.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing a program of infection prevention, control, and surveillance under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of education to obtain Texas Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • A current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of Texas is required - OR - a current home 4-state license is required for multi-state license recognition through the Nurse Licensure Compact.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of general nursing experience is required

  • Previous experience in the role of Infection Prevention and/or specialized training in infection control is required

  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Membership in the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology is required.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Infection Control certification
  • Experience with patient safety best practices.
