What to Expect
This role is responsible to maintain and continuously improve business management systems for all battery recycling related activities associated with 3rd party suppliers, RCRA Universal Waste Program, ISRI Recycling Industry Operating Standard, NSF/SERI Responsible Recycling (R2) Standard, DOT Lithium Battery Transport, and State and Province-specific Recycling Laws. The systems include data from all Tesla business units, including Manufacturing, Service, Energy, and Insurance. The management system will also include financial tools to analyze, budget and forecast business spend.
The ideal candidate will ensure that compliant collection systems and improvements are well organized and executed. The candidate will work together in various cross-functional settings with- amongst others- Production, Policy, EHS&S, Finance, Sales, and Product Information departments. Furthermore, this role will support the Battery Recycling Programs Team in projects not related to end-of-life management such as new market entries, invoice systems and risk analysis. Hereby the role presents the opportunity to develop new skills in different business areas. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in both a self-sufficient role, as well as one of team support and interaction. Ownership of work is extremely important. What You'll Do
- The primary responsibility is to provide analytic and research support for business-driven projects in recycling and recovery areas, including development of product collection procedures in line with regulatory initiatives and internal programs
- Interface with cross-functional teams (R&D, Service, Mfg.) to develop recycling processes that result in high recovery rates, low costs, and low environmental impact to maximize the recovery of materials
- Build, maintain, and improve reports, dashboards, and other analytical data with the Battery Recycling team and both internal & external stakeholders
- Lead analysis and draw conclusions from datasets, reports and recommend projects to drive improvement
- Help determine and budget needs for resources including systems and tools to implement and improve the Battery Recycling Inventory Control System and program
- Act as the subject matter expert within the business for anyone with questions or queries regarding data needs or metrics
- Coach internal and external stakeholders on best practice and influence and engage to deliver best in sector performance
- Actively work on growth of programs and projects to ensure compatibility with company growth and new market entries
- Ad hoc analyses as needed for high priority/visibility items
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering, or closely related discipline, alternatively the equivalent in experience
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a cross-functional business analysis role in a high-tech environment
- Industry experience in supply management & reverse logistics of products-containing lithium-ion batteries preferred
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MySQL, Vertical and/or any other database management platforms
- Strategic thinker who is comfortable in fast-paced environments and can provide well thought through solutions based on data analysis while keeping the 'bigger picture' in mind
- Proactive connections with various stakeholders to search for opportunities for improvement and collaboration
- Ability to manage projects effectively and efficiently under pressure given competing demands and tight deadlines preferred
- Well organized with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Travel up to 20%

Expected Compensation
$100,000 - $180,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
