Network Engineer

Job Title: Network Engineer.
Location: Ashburn, VA.

Description:
Responsibilities:

• Lead network architecture, design, testing, and implementation for a large complex, high profile, event-based network.
• Work across a large team of implementation and deployment engineers to ensure that designs are accurate, documented properly, and fully tested prior to deployment.
• Work as part of the network operations center following deployment during key events to manage tickets, escalations, and changes.
• Work with project managers and project leadership to communicate status and updates in an accurate and timely manner.
• Coordinate with other technology towers for testing and deployment including teams focused on security, Client, DHCP, Network Monitoring, and field ops.

• Expert knowledge of Cisco route/switch(9300, 9500, 9800) for both core and access devices including BGP, VRF design, VLAN design, QoS, etc.
• Working knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall networking, capabilities, and design criteria.
• Working knowledge of Multicast, DDoS products and configurations, Client, and DNS/DHCP.
• Working knowledge of deploying within AWS and AZURE cloud environments.
• Expert collaboration and communication skills, working well in a complex and dynamic environment.
• Ability to develop and maintain accurate, detailed, network documentation.
• Ability to travel, primarily to east coast locations (25% - 50%).

• Prior experience in event-based networks.

• Certifications from Cisco including CCIEs would be preferred. Cloud or Palo Alto certifications would be good.
