Itron is innovating new ways for utilities and cities to manage energy and water. We create a more resourceful world to protect essential resources for today and tomorrow. Join us.

Itron Resiliency Solutions is seeking a passionate, self-motivated, and technically sophisticated Solution Architect with a strong background in SaaS solutions within the utility industry. This role provides cross-functional support to help Enterprise/Client Executives (E/CEs) effectively position and sell the Worker Safety (WS) and Emergency Planning & Response (EP&R) solution suites. The Solution Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping how Itron delivers value-by translating technical capabilities into compelling, customer-centric stories that address real-world challenges and deliver measurable benefits. Solution Architects are assigned to named accounts and serve as the solution resource to the Enterprise/Client Executive. They act as trusted advisors to functional and technical buyers, partner with Sales to lead strategic engagements (including product demonstrations, hands-on pilots, and business case workshops), and collaborate internally with Product and Delivery teams to ensure proposed offerings are technically sound and commercially aligned. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as the Solution Owner for assigned pursuits, partnering with Enterprise and Client Executives to qualify prospects, develop deal strategies, deliver product demonstrations, lead solution workshops, and assess delivery feasibility.
  • Engage with senior business and technical decision-makers to understand strategic objectives and demonstrate the value proposition of Itron Resiliency Solutions WS and EP&R offerings.
  • Ensure continuity between pre-sales and delivery by confirming technical scope, integration feasibility, and solution strategy.
  • Play a key role in RFP responses by drafting functional and technical answers that are accurate, clear, and compliant.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise and Client Executives to create and shape new opportunities that expand solution scope and increase Total Contract Value (TCV).
  • Partner with Product and Delivery teams to identify adoption-critical requirements and perform fit-gap analyses for new use cases.
  • Demonstrate understanding of alternative technologies and competitor approaches to clearly articulate Itron's differentiation.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field-or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of client-facing experience in SaaS pre-sales, solution architecture, product management, or related roles within the utility industry.
  • Proven ability to storyboard customer use cases and translate them into executable technical solutions with clear business value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Excellent software demonstration skills that incorporate business value into solution presentations.
  • Ability to travel 40-50% for customer and internal meetings.
  • Work-from-home capability with no physical limitations preventing travel or meeting expectations.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with utility industry resiliency solutions, emergency planning, or worker safety technologies.
  • Familiarity with SaaS integration strategies and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledge of competitive landscape and ability to articulate differentiation effectively.
