The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Nurse Practitioner needed in the Division of Clinical Programs in the Department of Psychiatry to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and treatments for patients in the adult emergency department.

Responsibilities



  • Provide diagnostic psychiatric evaluations.
  • Provide psychopharmacologic and short-term psychotherapeutic treatments for a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team with strong interpersonal and communication skills is important.
  • The setting requires flexibility, consultative skills, and active collaboration with other providers and team members.
  • Document appropriately.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; 4 years related experience


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree in Nursing


Other Requirements



  • Must successfully complete all online systems training requirements
  • New York State Registered Nurse and Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner Licenses required
  • National Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), plus a minimum of two (2) years' experience in an outpatient setting, or inpatient setting, or emergency department setting; and
  • DEA certificate is also required.
