Certara is seeking a highly strategic and business-orientedVice President of Product Managementto lead a diverse and evolving portfolio of clinical data and submission technologies for the Pinnacle 21 portfolio of products. This role requires an experienced leader who can drivecommercial success, shapeportfolio strategy, collaborate across the organization, and operate confidently at the executive and board level.


Responsibilities

Portfolio & Product Leadership

  • Lead strategy and execution across amulti-product portfoliowith varying market positions and maturity levels, including:
  • Amarket-dominantflagship
  • Afree/community product
  • Emerging and advanced tier offerings
  • Anacquired platform being integrated
  • Develop an aligned portfolio vision, ensuring each product's strategy contributes to Certara's broader growth ambitions.
  • Balance investment, prioritization, and lifecycle decisions across mature, free, emerging, and integration-stage products.

Business Leadership & Commercial Impact

  • Serve as abusiness leader first, not just an R&D leader-owning market performance, revenue growth, and commercial outcomes.
  • Partner closely withSales,Marketing,Customer Success, andProfessional Servicesto drive:
  • Go-to-market strategy
  • Pricing and packaging
  • Positioning and messaging
  • Cross-sell and upsell motions
  • Competitive strategy and market segmentation
  • Deliver measurable improvements in product performance, customer expansion, and overall portfolio economics.

Organizational Leadership & Transformation

  • Assess the current product, engineering, and service delivery organizations with fairness and objectivity.
  • Identify and address gaps in:
  • Talent
  • Structure
  • Processes
  • Roles & responsibilities
  • Drive organizational alignment and product excellence, making strategic, evidence-based recommendations for change.
  • Lead through influence and cross-functional collaboration, not just positional authority.

Executive Alignment & Stakeholder Management

  • Present confidently to theexecutive leadership team.
  • Build trust with senior stakeholders through clarity, insight, and strong business judgment.
  • Translate complex technical and strategic issues into compelling, executive-ready narratives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive role.
  • Proven success leading aportfolioof products-not just a single product-ideally across different maturity stages (mature, free/community, emerging, and acquired products).
  • Demonstrated ability to drivebusiness results, revenue growth, and commercial strategy.
  • Experience collaborating closely withSales and Marketingon go-to-market and business strategy.
  • Strong organizational leadership skills with a track record of assessing and improving product and delivery organizations.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and preferably to a board of directors.
  • Prior leadership experience at a company with$50M+ in revenue, ideally larger.
  • Domain experience in clinical data, regulatory technology, life sciences software, or adjacent markets is beneficial but not strictly required.
