Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.

The successful candidate will support, operate, maintain, and service telecommunications network, telephone infrastructure (i.e., network, telephone, wired communications, wireless communications, and mobile platforms), and desktop-computing devices.



Responsibilities

    Typically oversee scope, cost, and schedule of a project, working on large projects or a significant segment of large and complex projects.
  • Analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions that normally involve the schedule, technology, methodology, tools, solution components, and financial management of the project.
  • Provide applications systems analysis and long and short-range plans for application selection, systems development, systems maintenance, and production activities for necessary support resources.
  • Commensurate experience and education for the specific level.


Qualifications

  • BS in relevant discipline plus minimum 2 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job. Related experience may be substituted for relevant education and vice versa
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Clearance
  • Must be US Citizen

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience in deploying and maintaining Container technologies such as OpenShift, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and enterprise software solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and with various stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps methods/approaches and CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of Computer Management Solutions, IT Cyber Policies, and common enterprise environments
  • Time Management and triaging skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage Time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
