- Drive the development of comprehensive test strategies and plans to validate customer use-cases and product capabilities.
- Construct and manage test environments, ensuring seamless interaction across product features.
- Execute validation testing activities, track defects, and collaborate with design teams for resolution.
- Summarize and report test metrics, delivering clear and concise updates to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure customer-focused solutions meet specifications and resolve issues.
- Develop and enhance automation test cases to improve execution efficiency.
- Support customer lab and field activities, ensuring issues are tracked to resolution.
- Analyze customer-reported issues and work with teams to identify and implement design improvements.
The Must Haves:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Optical Communications.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience with coherent optical modem concepts and optical networks.
- Proficiency in automation languages such as Python, with experience writing and troubleshooting scripts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to product excellence and quality.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
- Understanding of IP and Ethernet networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VLANs.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively in a multi-site environment.
Nice to Haves:
- Familiarity with CLI, JSON, and SDKs for device configuration and communication.
- Experience with Jenkins CI/CD or other CI/CD platforms.
- Leadership capabilities and aptitude for team-oriented development activities.
- Knowledge of lab test equipment and experience in a lab environment.
- Presentation and public speaking skills to effectively convey technical insights.
Pay Range: 60,800 - 97,200 USD
Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
