POSITION SUMMARY The Wellsite Operator Technician position will maintain proper working order of all NexTier equipment and make decisions regarding the servicing of NexTier equipment as directed by the WSOT Lead. Additionally, this position requires the hands-on operation of all NexTier sand operating equipment and NexTier wellsite equipment. While also developing a familiarity with bulk trucks, end dumps, belly dumps, general sand delivery and the administration of wellsite reporting functions. Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions
- Comply with all company safety rules and perform all duties in a safe and approved manner.
- Continually emphasize safety first. Participate in and at times lead safety meetings, hazard hunts and ensuring JSA's are writing correctly for each task and followed.
- Comply with all known Local, State and Federal Laws and Regulations.
- Must be able to perform and complete without fault all Essential Functions of the WSOT 2 positions.
- Operates, maintains, diagnose, and repairs a variety of equipment within the service line and other company equipment, if necessary, as directed by his/her Lead or SDM.
- Responsible for and understanding of the proper safe operation of all well site sand equipment, which includes but is not limited to conveyors, vipers, gravity boxes, well site transportation, silos, elevators, lifts, and loaders.
- Responsible for unloading/loading (bulk trucks, end dumps, belly dumps), transferring of product into proper silos, boxes, sand piles, gathering samples and testing of products received. Must be able to wear a respirator, a full body harness, and other required personal protective equipment.
- Perform clerical functions following the established guidelines for the recording of receipts, shipments, and inventory records.
- Assist with training of new employees. Must be courteous, professional, safe, and have a positive attitude.
- Assume responsibility of the wellsite operation in absence of supervision.
- Guide, instruct and train less experienced maintenance personnel.
- Monitor operation of equipment during pumping activities and make repairs as needed.
- Learn basic auxiliary equipment involved in maintenance operations.
- Read diagrams/schematics for work procedures.
- Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery in a safe manner.
- Perform routine maintenance, as well as non-routine repairs, to all the Company's assets.
- Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble and maintain wellsite equipment and perform other routine maintenance work.
- Verify that equipment is DOT compliant upon completion of all repairs.
- Perform all duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Demonstrated experience in the following areas: engine, electronic, diagnostic, hydraulic, suspension, and transmission system specific Product Service Line through company and OEM training.
- Knowledge and understanding of the required maintenance onsite including preventative planned maintenance pre job and post job.
- Knowledge of field/shop equipment and possesses knowledge of field/shop environment above and beyond hand tools.
- Knowledge of applicable DOT regulations.
- Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent that one can understand verbal and written instructions as well as give verbal and written instructions in English.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operation instructions and policies/procedures and communicate this information effectively.
- Ability to write reports and simple correspondence and effectively communicate/present information to groups of coworkers, customers, or members of the management team.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Ability to learn and integrate new technical skills and knowledge, and able to adapt behavior and work methods in response to changing conditions.

Minimum Requirements - (Wellsite Operator Technician 2)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Candidates must possess a working knowledge of diesel maintenance and the ability to learn and apply hands-on skills through on-the-job training.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate and support wellsite equipment (e.g., bulk handling systems, conveyors, silos, loaders)
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Ability to perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs
- Ability to accurately complete wellsite documentation, inventory, and reporting
- Proficient in reading basic diagrams, schematics, and operating procedures
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must meet physical, PPE, and environmental requirements of the role
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles as required
Minimum Requirements - (Wellsite Operator Technician 3)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 4-6 years of progressive wellsite operations and mechanical experience
- Advanced knowledge of wellsite equipment, material handling systems, and auxiliary equipment
- Proven ability to diagnose mechanical and operational issues and perform non-routine repairs
- Demonstrated experience verifying DOT compliance following maintenance or repairs
- Ability to assume responsibility for wellsite operations in the absence of direct supervision
- Experience training, mentoring, or guiding less experienced technicians
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, operational procedures, and risk mitigation
- Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
- Consistent demonstration of leadership, professionalism, and teamwork
Preferred Certifications
- Applicable OEM, mechanical, or technical certifications (preferred but not required)
Additional Details (Working Conditions & Physical Demands) This role requires medium physical exertion, including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently. The position involves standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive hand movements. Visual acuity, hearing, and effective verbal communication are required. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions. Extended shifts beyond 8 hours may be required. The role supports continuous wellsite operations and requires adherence to all safety policies, local, state, and federal regulations.
